wtf is that ?

Main Post: wtf is that ?

Top Comment: I saw it a couple of times, thought it was a bug, but, of course, is Kojima we are talking about here. Checked the Corpus and there's an entry for it, not sure who provided it or when. EDIT: Added screenshot. Other named entries on the Corpus showing may contain spoilers, be warned!

Can someone explain what is going on in /r/WTF?

Main Post: Can someone explain what is going on in /r/WTF?

Top Comment: As far as I can tell, this is a form of the debate that many subreddits are undergoing, concerning what content will be a part of the community. See r/skyrim for another recent example. Basically, members of r/wtf are responding to the debate by actively posting the "old days" kind of WTF posts which they want to see in their subreddit. This kind of activism is noticeably different than if they had decided to hold a moderated thread to comment about their feelings, for example.

/r/WTF removes itself from the default subreddits

Confirmed by a mod.

Reddit's default front page has just become a lot tamer.

Top Comment: If you didn't know, Reddit's admins recently implemented a rule that no one can mod more than three default subreddits. Rather than having BEP and Lynda73 resign from their mod positions, it seems that r/WTF has decided to keep these mods on board and give up their default status instead. Also, for some reason, u/Kylde is exempt from the rule and can mod as many subreddits as he wants.
